CORAL SEA CVA-43 WHICH THE BOOK USES AS A REFERENCE FOR SPENDING THE LONGEST CRUISE TO WESTPAC SINCE THE KOREAN WAR 331 DAYS LONG. THE DATE WAS VERY SIGNIFICANCE SINCE IT WAS THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE BOMBING OF PEARL HARBOR ON DECEMBER 7TH, 1941 JUST BEFORE 0800 AND 23 YEARS LATER THE U.S.S. CORAL SEA CVA-43 LEAVES NAS ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA ON THE VERY SAME DATE AT 0800. BUT THE MOST IRONIC THING ABOUT THAT WHOLE CRUISE IS THAT EXACTLY TWO MONTHS LATER ON A SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7TH 1965 THE CORAL SEA, HANCOCK AND RANGER MAKE RETALIATORIES AIR STRIKES ON NORTH VIETNAM IN THE TONKIN GULF WHICH MADE US EXCLUSIVE MEMBERS OF THE TONKIN GULF YACHT CLUB WHERE WE MADE AIR STRIKES LIKE THERE WERE NO TOMORROW.

The book is a little pricy BUT it is THE reference book on Navy Aviation during the
Viet Nam War. The quality of the photographs is excellent. The volume of statistics is without parallel in any reference. Francillon is tops.

About the Author

Stephen J. Virgilio is an associate professor of physical education at Adelphi University, Garden City, New York. He was an elementary physical educator for six years before earning his PhD from Florida State University in 1979. He is the coauthor of the Heart Smart Program, a comprehensive cardiovascular health education model for elementary schools, and the principal author of SuperKids-SuperFit, a physical activity curriculum designed for the Heart Smart Program.

Dr. Virgilio has published extensively throughout his career and has provided presentations for major conferences at the national, international, regional, and state levels. He is also a popular consultant and workshop presenter to school districts throughout the United States. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, Long Island, and on the editorial board for Teaching Elementary Physical Education. He is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; and Phi Delta Kappa.

In his spare time, Steve coaches Little League and enjoys jogging, tennis, mountain biking, world economics, and family activities. He lives in East Williston, Long Island, New York, with his wife, Irene, and their two sons, Stephen and Joseph.

This is one of the best books on narrow footprint houses. Page after page of some of the most interesting examples of narrow footprint houses that are not row, or town houses. There are plenty of photos and floor plans to see. A great source for examples of houses for narrow lots, or tiny sites.

"Narrow Houses: New Directions in Efficient Design" by Avi Friedman (Princeton Architectural Press) deal with another kind of situation altogether. The shoebox home. Defining `narrow' as a structure with a street-facing facade of 25 feet or less, Friedman highlights a broad array of solutions for maximizing usable space while creating the necessary flow for the limited environment.

Houses from Amsterdam to Japan (where one pictured home is a mere nine feet wide!) are showcased, many using the latest modern, cutting edge design, but all with a mind towards maximizing use of open space, vertical integration and that ever elusive `flow' to make things seem imminently livable despite the cramped space. Lots of stairways and glass windows and walls are used to open up these spaces, as Friedman cites examples from freestanding structures to rows of tiny fronted townhomes.

Beyond the examples, Friedman explains the reasoning behind the re-emergence of the narrow home movement in terms of environment and economic and social impact as well as the issues to be aware of (footprint, duplexes, yard space, etc.) when dealing with this type of development. As urban areas get more crowded, (though narrow homes are even expanding to suburban and certain rural areas), the issues presented here will become more and more useful to builders everywhere. Robichaud argues that the tension between vernacular and Latin cultures in Jones's poetry reflects his concern over the modern relationship between national and European cultural interests, an intellectual context shared with T.S. High praise from me

As a person that has a a passionate love for God I am always on the lookout for others who are as passionate as me and who have experienced the supernatural. I love it when you start to read a book and you feel the anointing on it and the more you read the stronger the presence of God gets. Over 50% of books I buy I don't finish and yet all the books I finish I seem to write reviews on now.

This book will excite you and hopefully ignite a fire in you. The man is humble and graceful and passionate. His stories are great to read and this book should create a hunger in you to reach the level of relationship and intimacy that this author shares with God. Whilst I was expecting more I wasn't in any way upset that I did not get as big as smorgasboard that I was hoping for.
Read it and watch out for the story about the sign and wonder done in the heavens to prove that this man was going to be well known one day

I give high praise for this book and Ii commend it to you as a good read

Personally I have been to heaven fifty times, have met and conversed with God, Jesus saints and angels in heaven and on earth and I never tire of reading other peoples supernatural accounts.

The Adventure of Supernatural Discovery - A Handbook on Receiving Divine Encounters is made up of accounts of Kaylor's personal encounters with God, testimonies and inspiring stories describing supernatural transformation, miracles, and illustrating the power available through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Michael Kaylor encourages the reader to move beyond the "norm" to experience a new norm through the same vibrant encounters with the Living Christ as experienced by the disciples in the early church. In the chapter titled simply "Bam" tells of the outpouring of God in Belem, Brazil where Michael and his wife Cherrie were ministering with Randy Clark, founder of Global Awakening. Michael relates an encounter with God that has forever changed his life and ministry.

Key guidelines are quickly identified with "compass icons" used to emphasize guidelines vital to the adventurous journey of discovery, unexplainable joy, life changing divine appointments, prophetic dreams and visions, and other supernatural encounters.

Michael Kaylor writes with simplicity and boldness, with confidence, compassion, and conviction. Michael uses a combination of Biblical teaching, positive affirmations, and supernatural events to illustrate "God's extravagant abundance." Some of these events are almost unimaginable, unbelievable, but definitely supernatural. This is a book for the individual with a hunger for God, willing to pursue and embrace the abundant life that Christ offers. An amazing account of the discovery and adventure of supernatural living.

Rare jewel. This is the real deal. I will never achieve what Iyengar prescribes or demonstrates in this book. But it is the most inspiring to get wisdom from the master. There is thorough step by step instructions, paragraphs... and wonderful photos demonstrating poses.

"Yoga is a timeless pragmatic science evolved over thousands of years dealing with the physical, moral, mental and spiritual well-being of man a whole," the author tells us in the Preface.

This book taught me that to do one pose in a sanctifying way... is all that is necessary on the path to enlightenment.

Needs an editor badly, but there a lot of genuine insights in here.

About the Author
Anne Firth Murray, a New Zealander, attended the University of California, Berkeley, and New York University, where she studied economics, political science, and public administration, with a focus on international health policy and women’s reproductive health. In the 1960s and 70s, she worked at the United Nations, taught in Hong Kong and Singapore, and spent several years with Oxford, Stanford, and Yale university presses. In the 1970s and 80s, she worked in the field of philanthropy, serving as a consultant to many foundations. From 1978 to the end of 1987, she directed the environment and international population programs of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation in California. She is the Founding President of the Global Fund for Women, established in 1987, which provides funds internationally to seed, strengthen, and link groups committed to women’s well being. Her book Paradigm Found: Leading and Managing for Positive Change describes lessons learned from the early years of the Global Fund. Since 2000, she has been a consulting professor in human biology at Stanford University, where she teaches courses on international women’s health and human rights. and on love as a force for social justice. The first edition of her second book, From Outrage to Courage: Women Taking Action for Health and Justice, was published in 2008. Ms. Murray serves on several boards and councils of non-profit organizations, including the African Women’s Development Fund, Commonweal, the Global Force for Healing, the Global Justice Center, and SPARK (a network dedicated to women’s empowerment). She is the recipient of many awards and honors for her work on women’s health and philanthropy, and in 2005 she was among one thousand women nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The true state of women around the world

This was assigned reading for a university class I am taking. I have lived abroad and think this one of the best accounts of the true state of women's lives. It was at times difficult to read, but very eye opening. This should be required reading for all women in the developed world!

Genuinely interesting and well written

As an international relations scholar with specializations on developing nations and gender issues, I highly recommend this book for those with or without a background in the issues covered in the book. If you already have a good grasp of the problems women face in conflict ridden or developing countries you can feel free to skip the introduction as it generally is a good basic overview of those problems. For those who are new to the subject, I highly recommend reading the introduction and considering it before moving on to further chapters. For some, it might be a good idea to read the introduction twice if you are planning to get involved with these issues beyond your own interest.

The new Bible about Intraoperative monitoring

I have been involved in intraoperative monitoring for 20+ years and I have almost any textbook in the field including Dr. Nuwer's original work from 1986 and its second edition from 2000. This new volume is by far the best book published ever about IOM. It has almost 1000 pages devoted to the field. Each chapter is written by a well known authority. The first section covers basic science aspects to understand the generation of electro-physiologic signals and the anatomic structures involved.
