This book outlines various lesson plans that can be incorporated in the preschool classroom. It also includes forms and a volunteer training manual that a teacher may copy for use in the classroom. None of the lesson plans is exceptionally original, but they could prompt some ideas for new teachers. My main complaint with the book is that it was not edited well. For example, on a class enrollment form that the teacher should be able to copy for use, the word "snakes" is used instead of snacks. I'm sure every parent is excited about snakes being included in the daily rate. Another page tells teachers not to make "idol threats" instead of idle threats. Who edited this? For individuals keen on details, this book can be frustrating to process. There are randomly capitalized words, font changes, haphazardly underlined words, and words with quotation marks that don't need them. Often punctuation is missing from a sentence. An example would include: "SPECIAL NOTE: THESE ARE MERELY SAMPLES and EXAMPLES There are Many Places to Shop" Please note the random capitalization and punctuation. There are many other examples of poor editing throughout the book. If you want to use these materials, go through them carefully and edit and then edit some more. You don't want to send forms to parents that talk about snakes. Additionally, random capitalization and a lack of punctuation can make a parent question whether the teacher has command of writing and grammar rules.
